Transbook- Children’s Literature on the Move
Transbook- Children’s Literature on the Move is a European project dedicated to images, children’s literature that speaks through diverse characters, an exchange among artists, cultural creatives, professionals, and between the cultural practices of various countries. Transbook tells story of the ever-moving illustrated book world, always looking for new creative space, and investigations into old and new methods.
The project is the result of the partnership of 7 European organizations: (Salon du livre et de la presse jeunesse – France, Europäische Kinder- und Jugendbuchmesse Saarbrücken – Germany, Tantàgora – Spain, Arts Basics for Children – Belgium, Nobrow Ltd – UK, Literárne informačné centrum – Slovakia, Hamelin Associazione Culturale – Italy). It came about out of the need to address changes in publishing, problems and challenges of digitalization, and to help professionals in the field to best deal with these changes from both a creative and economic standpoint.
Through conferences, artistic residencies, workshops, seminars and exhibitions showing some of the most interesting current talent.
In Bologna an entire year has been dedicated to the activities around Transbook. Beginning with BilBolBul 2014 and the presence of Manuele Fior, Stefano Ricci and Icinori, leading to the invitation to Art City with Evelyne Laube- It’s Raining Elephants and finally to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair with the exhibition of Steven Guarnaccia and Tranbook Symposium.
