Close Encounters – Summer Camps
Watch out, the aliens are coming!
Here comes another edition of our summer camp, organized in partnership with Schermi e Lavagne – Dipartimento educativo della Cineteca di Bologna, longterm promoter of an educational method that combines different languages: cinema, comics and illustration.
A two week long journey towards faraway galaxies, intergalactic stations and the rings of Saturn: this years’ theme is indeed science fiction. During the many workshops, field trips, and activities planned, children will watch movies and create their own short documentary about aliens.
Week 1
June 11 – 15
h 9 am – 6 pm
The éléphouris and other creatures
One week may not be enough to get in touch with aliens, but we will try to meet as many of them as possible. Guided by French illustrator and designer Jérémie Fischer, children will travel to new worlds and gather materials they will then combine to give shape to all kinds of space creatures: cyclops, robots, green aliens. After all, aliens come in all shapes and sizes.
Week 2
June 18 – 22
h 9 am – 6 pm
Close encouters of the third kind: alien cinema
What if we were abducted by aliens? And what if we ended up on a film set?
The second week is entirely dedicated to science fiction cinema, from interstellar journeys to alien invasions. Like on a real set, children will work on a real short documentary of which they will be protagonists, directors and producers. They will have a chance to witness the entire movie making process, under the eye of a real professional troupe.
